Working at Turning Point

We exist for one reason: to have a positive and measurable impact on the lives of people affected by drug and alcohol misuse, mental health issues and learning disabilities. This takes more than good intentions. It takes the courage to grapple with real problems, the enthusiasm to explore new ideas, the ability to work as part of a focused and integrated team and a genuine respect for the integrity and individuality of everyone we deal with. In short, it takes people – like you – who care about making a difference.

Our Culture

Turning Point is a flexible, creative and highly responsive organisation. And for good reason. The sheer pace of change in the treatment of health and disability issues – and the complex needs of the individuals we work with – means that we must constantly evolve and adapt to new circumstances and priorities.

The result is a vibrant and stimulating environment driven by a clear set of values. We are always honest with each other and with the people we work with. We promote safety and accountability in everything we do. And we always start with the person rather than the problem.

But that’s just the start. As a campaigning organisation, we stand up for what we believe in and use our expertise to challenge attitudes and policies that affect the people who depend on our services – a task that includes influencing governmental thinking when necessary. As you would expect, we are always highly professional in our work and passionate about achieving the ambitious goals we set for ourselves.

As part of our team, your views and opinions will matter. This is an environment that thrives on the sharing of ideas and insight, therefore we promote teamwork and open communication at every level. You will not only be recognised and rewarded for using your initiative, you will also be encouraged to develop and expand your skills in line with the changing needs of the organisation and the clients we work with.

Our Benefits

Turning Point is committed to providing a valuable benefits package as part of its commitment to retaining staff and also recognising and rewarding performance. Therefore you will enjoy an attractive salary and a range of benefits including at least 27 days' holiday, final salary pension scheme, season ticket loan and many more!

In addition to the above benefits Turning Point provides a flexible benefits scheme. The scheme is made up of three main elements, salary sacrifice, voluntary benefits and Lifestyle Benefits.

The salary sacrifice scheme allows you to give up part of your salary at source i.e. before tax and national insurance deduction and you can use it to buy, for example, childcare vouchers or bikes for work through Turning Point. You make savings with this type of scheme because you pay less tax and national insurance.

Voluntary benefits include the option to sign up to schemes like dental and optical insurance, health cash plan and many more.

Lifestyle benefits include access to a huge range of offers and discounts, for example, high street discounts, air fare discounts and online shopping discounts. These benefits mean you are buying products and services as a normal customer but the prices have been negotiated on your behalf using our collective buying power as a large organisation.
