Turning Point is a national organisation working in many fields of social care; this is also reflected in the opportunities available to volunteers.

Who are volunteers?
A volunteer is anyone who, without compensation or expectation of compensation beyond reimbursement of expenses incurred in the course of their duties, performs a task at the direction of, or on behalf of the organisation.
What will a volunteer get in return?
Training and Induction
All volunteers will receive an Induction to the organisation which will include the vision of Turning Point, its values and Code of Conduct as well as orientation on the nature and operation of the service they are joining. Information will also be provided on the purpose and requirements of their role.
Volunteers will receive specific on the job training to provide them with the information and skills necessary to perform their volunteer assignment.
Repayment of expenses
Any expenses incurred while undertaking volunteer work with Turning Point may be claimed back.
Expenses that may be claimed include:
Travel to and from the place of volunteering.
Meals taken whilst volunteering.
Travel in the course of volunteering.
Rights and responsibilities of a volunteer
Volunteers are viewed as a valuable resource to Turning Point staff and clients. Volunteers are extended the right to be given meaningful assignments, treated as equal co-workers, full involvement and recognition for work completed.
In return, volunteers shall agree to actively perform their duties to the best of their abilities and to remain loyal to the values, goals and procedures of Turning Point.
In line with National care standards, appropriate roles will be subject to a Police check, check of the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults registers and two personal references.
