Flexible Benefits Package Offering flexible benefits to our staff is a cornerstone of Turning Point’s ongoing commitment to provide a valuable benefits package when you work for us. Our scheme is made up of three elements: - Salary sacrifice allows you to give up part of your salary at source, before it goes into your bank account and use it to buy childcare vouchers and bikes for work through Turning Point. By paying for these items from your gross salary you’ll pay less tax and national insurance.
- Voluntary benefits includes the option to sign up to the following schemes at special Turning Point rates which are secured at a cheaper rate because of our bigger purchasing power – dental and optical insurance, health cash plan and personal accident insurance.
- Lifestyle benefits includes access to a huge range of offers and discounts on a variety of services and products including holidays, music and clothing.
Commitment to Career Development Everyone working at Turning Point has different skills and career ambitions. To match these and the needs of the organisation, Turning Point provides an induction to your employment within the first six weeks of your start date. A core training package is then provided, supported by other learning materials, during your probationary period. External courses may also be offered. We provide a performance management framework including probationary reviews, annual performance appraisals, six monthly reviews and regular supervision sessions. There are opportunities for career progression within the organisation, for example, a development programme for Managers leading to a Certificate in Social Care and a fast track programme for those who want to advance to a Team Leader position. Promotion opportunities are published weekly via our ‘Job Point’ vacancy list. Pension Scheme All Turning Point employees with permanent or fixed term contracts of more than 6 months between the ages of 18-59 inclusive are eligible to join the Turning Point Final Salary Pension Scheme. Employees have up to 12 months from the start of employment to join the scheme. Work Life Balance The organisation is committed to staff maintaining a balance between work and home life. Application for flexible working can be made before or during employment and full consideration will be given to their feasibility. We offer enhanced maternity pay, occupational paternity pay and occupational adoption pay subject to qualifying criteria. Confidential Care An independent 24-hour confidential counselling service is open to all employees and their immediate family. The service is designed to help individuals deal with a range of personal and work related problems. Travel Season Ticket Loans Interest free travel loans are available to all employees who use public transport to get to work, on completion of their probationary period. Car Insurance Excess and No Claims Recovery Scheme For a nominal annual premium, employees can cover their insurance excess and no claims bonus for damage to their private vehicle whilst on Turning Point premises or business. Service Payments Employees reaching their 10, 15, 20 and 25 year anniversaries of employment with Turning Point are eligible for recognition payments. Trade Union Recognition Turning Point recognises the Transport and General Workers Union / Association of Clerical, Technical and Supervisory Staff. As the Union has the sole negotiating rights within the organisation all employees are encouraged to join. |
